She spies him before he crosses their border. When Nico was busy with the herd she would get busy taking over the patrols. Heck half the time she would patrol the opposite side of the Inlet as Nico patrolled the other. He never asked her to participate, or to help, but she has always done this since she was younger. It used to be for mother and it still was. That, and the rest of the family she vowed to protect. It was the very reason she has started to become more serious in learning how to fight.
After the wold encounter she learned it was not just strangers she needed to watch for. The preditors could easily become desperate and seek to feed off them. She hides among the treeline watching the stallion walk into their home and call out. She does not answer his greeting, but instead growls. Dark ears pinned back as her golden eyes glare at him. Yasmina steps out into the open, eyes fixed on him, and body rigid. Her head lowers ready to charge until a voice comes from behind.
"Calm Yasmina," Nico says softly to her as he passed by. The calico stallion stands tall and assertive. He perhaps looks more intimidating with his attack mare at his side still glaring at the stranger.
"Good day sir. What brings you to our home?" He asks with a smile despite his stance. Yasmina never fully agreed with how Nico also kept so friendly, but her mother had been the same way. This is why she was needed here to protect them.
