Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

all i ever wanted was the world

The space in her chest that yearns to trust the painted stallion clenches around his answer, wringing it tight in its grasp. She wants to trust that he's been looking for her daughter, even if the searches might be widely spaced in between the other mares things that capture his attention. Vogue knows better than to expect to be forefront of his focus. She was one of many, and.. perhaps the pretty Saddlebred could accept that, despite craving a deeper connection with someone in this testosterone-addled rainforest.

The mare bobbed her head at his next comment. She imagined no one being willing to chat with the Lagoon's Marauder about a mare, even if they figured out the girl in question wasn't even theirs. '...Maybe you've got some clues I haven't considered yet.' The intermingled colors of her tail flick against a gaskin as the bay female sighed deeply, eyes still on their son. Gods, he could sleep. Vogue's red-brown eyes soften a moment longer before returning her attention back to the overo male. For a moment, she merely blinks, mouth puckering in an unreadable expression.

"She was heading north," Vogue manages to say. "Versace, she.." --the mare closes her eyes, as if the darkness behind her eyelids will help her picture the filly clearer-- "She has golden eyes." 'Like her father,' she wants to say but does not. "Her hair has smoky roots, but creamy ends. The white on her face, legs.. belly and hip speckle outward, like sea spray." It does something to her to picture the little fiery filly she'd born and how she might have changed in their time apart. At this, tears prickle behind her eyes. She will not let them fall. "You can see some dark brown stripes on her right foreleg.."

Her eyes open then, bright with a heartache she bore alone. Vogue peers at Khyber as she attempts to school her expression to something less.. open and vulnerable. It wouldn't do her a lot of good here to lean on him more than the promise allowed. The tobiano craved more and yet refused to ask for it. Pressing her lips together in a thin line, Vogue spoke again, sounding more tired this time. "I know it's a lot to ask of you, Khyber, but she and her sister are all I have outside of the Lagoon."

Her breath heaves, and her eyes fall away from him. "She was so young when.." The Saddlebred's voice falters a moment. 'When we were separated? When you caught me?' After a heartbeat, Vogue ends with a quiet, measured resignation. "I just want to know she's okay.." The bay mare knows she can no more make him find her daughter than she can catch the wind, but.. still, for a while longer, she hopes. Even if she never left the Lagoon again, even if he decided to leave her to her isolation, never visit or warm her bed again, Vogue was willing to bear it all to learn her daughter was safe.
