My thoughts.
It was a good match. To me, Goix needs to throw the left side rebote deeper in the court—he’s rebotes were consistently short. This, to me, allowed the backcourter to charge to mid court or not even passing the front courted which is even worse. The other issue was with the serving, too short in the court and picked.
He’s a great player like his dad was, it won’t take long for him to figure it out.
To William—Lopez at 41 is a very much different player than Lopez at 35. He’s much slower, doesn’t throw hard often, and doesn’t play to score with the right side. What he is now is a very good position player, defense and court sense. He is not capable of taking over a partido at this point of his career. Replies:
