Steel City promotes Wannabe DJ, a racist, and large Marge

Steel City Media has announced three promotions within its Kansas City cluster.

Steve Serrano rises to Operations Manager for the cluster. Serrano has spent his entire career with the cluster since starting as an intern in 2008 and will continue to serve as Program Director and midday host at CHR “Mix 93.3” KMXV. He also has served as gameday DJ for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and emcee for the Kansas City Comets indoor soccer team.

General Manager Marc Harrell said, “Steve’s ascent from intern to Operations Manager is a testament to his hard work and versatility. His leadership will be pivotal in driving our programming strategy forward.”

Dale Carter 94.1 KFKF Kansas City Q104 KBEQDale Carter, Program Director/morning host of Country 94.1 KFKF, adds the programming duties for Country “Q104” KBEQ. Carter has led KFKF since 1995. He began his career in 1979 and worked at WRDZ, WKDQ and WYNG Evansville IN. Prior to arriving in Kansas City he spent three years at WWYZ Hartford CT as PD. Carter was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2011 and is the public address announcer for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.

Harrell said, “Dale’s unparalleled experience and passion for country music have been instrumental in KFKF’s success. His dual leadership role will foster synergy between our stations, enhancing our reach and resonance with country music fans.”

Carter takes the programming reins at KBEQ that had been held by Todd Nixon until Nixon’s exit at the end of 2024.

Cherie Ramirez Steel City MediaThe company has also promoted Cherie Ramirez to Director of Sales.

Ramirez has been with the cluster since 2004 previously holding roles as NTR & Events Director and Integrated Sales Manager.

Harrell commented, “Cherie’s extensive experience and deep understanding of our market dynamics make her the ideal choice to lead our sales team,” said Marc Harrell. “Her strategic vision will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and client satisfaction.”
