I am a little disappointed that Sovereignty is not running and there is no chance of a triple crown winner but the owner and trainer knows what is best for the horse.

Small field and shorter distance favors Journalism (and thats why he is 8-5) but weather and track conditions could be a factor

Journalism did not like the sloppy track in the derby. They are expecting rain early this week in Baltimore, MD but supposed to clear on Saturday.

I do not think any of the other derby horses in the race are much of a threat.

Several other horses that did not run in the derby and have fresh legs always add a little excitement to the mix.

Just starting to look at the race now.
