The players are not being compensated for their time, play or travel. This is a Federation event - different than the tournaments that Goiko and Egi coordinate. Tickets are being sold by the venue and (I believe) it is being covered by EITB and for this event, that income does not trickle down to the players.

I am being quick to get this answered because two of the 4 U.S. players are under contract at Magic City and are prohibited from receiving compensation for their play from a source other than M.C./ Battle Court Jai-Alai. They have received special permission in order to participate.
