Ok, Elimination Games in Jai Alai.

Consists of 7 numbered parts. I'm interested in the second.

2. In case of a tie after a Win position has been officially declared, it shall not be necessary to score the full game's number of points, in order to determine place, show or fourth positions, or all three for the players or teams.

How do we interpret, it shall not be necessary?

Does it mean sometimes not necessary, or most of the time, or never, or what?

Or could we say, well, we're sticking with our declaration that it is not necessary, but in some cases, we'll do it anyway.

I'm curious how people evaluate that oddball rule.
