Typically CFD FSR has been slow and resistant to adopt any changes. Almost hostile to them, even for their own betterment.

I recommend the union and membership find ways to make FF's more relevant in EMS. I know you guys don't like it and don't want to hear it, but doing this would go a long way for job security and manning.

Adapt to the future or get lost in the dust.
