a burning eye in a lifeless sky

Though he could certainly appreciate getting to witness banter between two herd stallions, Akkadian began to grow impatient once it seemed that the names Asmodeus sprinkled into the conversation were purely for the silver buckskin-- since as they meant absolutely nothing to him. The edges of the boy's expression had begun to sour as he hated being out of the loop when the focus of the conversation began to swing back his way: "But that's a conversation for another day, when I'm not interrupting your interrogation of a hapless young stallion."

The citrine hue of his gaze narrowed in the Shore lead's direction, feeling the shift toward his imminent departure. Their eyes met for only a moment before Asmodeus seemed to turn back to the silver male. What puzzled young Akkadian was the chimera's passing offer as he made to leave: "If he kicks you out, kid, stop by the Shore on your way out." The confusion, as well as the intrigue, would have flashed across the spotted two year-old's face faster than he could think to control it. Kade only managed to school himself while the Paradise quipped back to the other stallion.

He didn't know the name of this silver stallion who turned back to their original issue, only that this is the male who ruled Paradise. ”Well, which is it? Try your luck here or at the Shore?” Despite the burning curiosity now simmering in his gut, Akkadian knew that any further conversation with Asmodeus had to come second to the task at hand. He had no idea what the chimera might want to discuss with him (did he guess he was Helios' son?), but Kade believed he needed to follow through with his initial plan: attain a position first, gather intel later.

Dipping his head slightly, Akkadian spoke, "With all due respect, I sought you out first." Citrine eyes flicked to the shape of Asmodeus before resting on the buckskin again. He collected himself with a steadying breath and then forged onward. "If you guess right that Lucifer will not be staying in Paradise, then I'd like to offer to take his place in your ranks." Lucifer gone meant one less pair of eyes minding the borders, and, if watching his father's rule had been an example, Akkadian figured the more eyes, the more willing defenders, the better. Either way, he gained nothing by being anything less than bold.
