Hello everybody, team USA has returned from (Gernika) and brought home a bronze metal. It was an excellent trip and I’d like to take a moment to thank everybody that was generous and supporting our fundraiser. We were able to raise $2800 which went towards The many expenses of the trip. Team USA’s record was. 3-1 throughout the six day tournament. USA beat Mexico in the first match, where Douglas and Benny made their international debut. They played very well and showed the world that they were capable of competing at that level. In the second match against Spain, johan and Gorka played against Erik and Atain in a nail biter. USA won the first match 15 to 14, lost the second match 9 to 15 and won the tiebreaker 10 to 9. That put us in the semifinal round playing against team France. Team USA missed going to the finals losing in two sets 15 to 13, 15 to 13. The next day team USA faced team Spain in the consolation game winning the bronze medal in two sets. Follow the link below to see some pictures of our journey.
