It seemed to the golden mare that everything had seemed to change drastically on the arid island once her father Rafe had vanished. Aches always wended through her heart at the chance thoughts of the older male whom she'd adored from afar as a filly. Subsequently, the focus would shift to her mother-- the reclusive Sonneratii-- whom she'd also been separated from that day when chaos struck and the Badlands changed hands to an outsider. How far away that isolated and yet idyllic life of her foalhood seemed now..
But Salem wasn't safe anymore. This was the the conclusion Rhoxane had come to after hearing the rumor of Evrain's disappearance-- or presumed death-- in the Hills to the far east of the island. However, it had been the news of the overthrow of Helios in the Dunes and the black beast who'd darkened their shores that finally convinced her to abandon Salem. Her home. It had not been a decision made lightly. The champagne wanderer had spent the better part of two days and three restless nights deliberating the paths available to them both: she and her son Rhodius.
The only logical conclusion that had been presented was to head north. The golden mare had considered joining the Sisterhood of the Peak, but the thought of possibly being separated from her son dashed the line of thought entirely. She would not go somewhere where he might not be able to follow. The only path that remained then was to go back to Tinuvel, more specifically to the Inlet.. and Nicodemus; this was the reason the two bedraggled strangers strode cautiously forward from the no-man's-land between the Bay and the Arch, both hoping the offer for them to stay still stood.
