Re(6): Defensive Operations

so hold on here PR SOP 705.00 we do not operate in any IDLH environment or hazardous area with less than 2 members. According to GO25-002 the officer must remain outside and in command of the fire. so you are the officer of an engine. you are on a variance. you pull up on a 2.5 story frame well involved with reports of a child trapped. how do you have your hydrant man ensure a positive source while making an interior attack while remanning in side A? how do you even lead out an exposure line placing the pipeman in a potentially IDLH area (collopse or smoke) alone? As a truck officer are you now the roof team as you have to remain outside until the chief arrives even if there is someone trapped. I am not sure where the OSHA defense is coming from as they dont tell the national Guard how to fight a war they dont tell the police how to engage in a car chase why should they tell us how to fight a fire. This is pure cowardice from 213. Also the order never says who can convert into an offensive attack if anyone can. "Initiate interior attack and search/rescue operations only if there are clearly visible
victims who are in imminent danger, or if information is received from the Fire
Alarm Office or from persons on scene that there are victims trapped inside the
structure." never says or if a chief arrives on scene,
