I'm the nightmare in your dreams Posted on July 3, 2025 at 05:40:12 AM by Cursed Dreams
The pale mare considered his words. small could have its advantages then she mumbled to herself. It was a strange concept to her, as in her past life before coming here it was definitely more of a hindrance.
After her attempt to attack him she huff, clearly annoyed at herself for failing, but his compliment made her pause, unease flashed in her eyes, there and gone before she shuttering those emotions, a skill she had learned from a young age, necessary for her survival with where she had grow up. Ignoring the comment she once more listen to his advice. Taking it in as her blue eyes scanned his body, looking for a weak spot. Snort, yer he looked like he hardly had any! Still, her blue eyes scanned him, cataloguing a few places she might get a hit in.
This time she moved to circle him, hoping she’d have a better chance this time, not wanting to fail again. At a young age she had learnt that things were black or white, you even succeed and won or you failed and lost. Even when still learning she was expected to win, each and every time. It didn’t matter if your opponent was bigger than you, older, more experienced, the lesson was still the same… Win, no matter the cost. It was hard to not see this as law when several times she had picked herself up off the floor, beaten and bloody from a opponent twice her age and size. As much as she had hated that place, especially after learning the truth of why she was there, the lesson of succeed or fail were still seen as law in her eyes. She simply didn’t know any different.
It was no wonder that her twisted and controlled beginning had hammered home that failure was not acceptable.
having had it drummed into her from a early age, she saw things as either succeeding or failing, and failing wasn’t acceptable. This had been what she was taught with those twisted minds who tried to control her, that often fuelled her anger or her outburst when other didn’t take the hints and leave her alone. Although Asmodeus was a little different from others she had met, even there first meeting he had surprised her by not being like ever other male in the common. It was why she had agreed to follow him and why she was here trying to learn from him.
This time her eyes didn’t fix on any one spot, they lingered for a mere second before moving to another spot, when she flew at him her eyes didn’t settle on a spot until she had already moved. Her aim was to knock him off balance by ramming her shoulder into his rib cage, although shorter than him she was stocky and with herself having a lower centre of gravity she hoped it would stagger him even just a little so she could reach up his neck to clamp her teeth around his poll, or however high she would actually be able to reach.
