seeing double Posted on July 12, 2025 at 04:38:57 PM by reyes & cruz
When they broke the news to their father that they were leaving the mainland for the islands, he was a bit upset. The islands were his birthplace, and he should have been happy, but he was not. Their father said a few words to them and walked off. It became clear to the twins that their sire hated the islands. They were aware he had family here, but he never interacted with them. They were miffed by the way he acted whenever family was mentioned. Something happened, but what was it? They'll probably find out later.
But the brothers had other stuff to worry about, like being in a herd. Cruz became worried about Reyes, since he only spoke Spanish and very little English. Reyes claimed that speaking another tongue became quite complex to learn. So Cruz had to be his translator, which he had been since they were foals. Cruz could already see it; the two leading a herd would result in frustration due to Reyes. Their sire had a mixed reaction when he learned that his offspring spoke different languages. He was aware that it could happen since their surrogate mother spoke Spanish. It would take a miracle for Reyes to speak English.
Cruz felt a gentle breeze hit him as he watched his identical twin. Something had his attention. What was it? He moved a bit closer to take a look. It was a horse, not too far. He knew Reyes wanted to interact with them; he had to play translator, too. Cruz gently nudged Reyes, permitting him to go. Reyes started making his way to the horse with Cruz behind him. Cruz became nervous. What if this didn't go well? He let out a nicker to the stranger.
