There is a moment, only a moment, where she mistakes the heavily scarred black creature before her for the lover she had lost, and in that moment, she hopes and fears and agonizes. When it passes, she is left bereft in a way, her heart heavier than it had been only seconds before. Self-doubt follows, but she has no where to go with her shame and so she nods in acknowledgement of her companion.
He fell into step with her, which did not put her at ease, but with only a small faltered step she continued on. "This is the Crossing, or more specifically, the Commons." Vette peered sideways at the stallion, taking in the small details of his appearance that she had missed on that first heart-breaking view. Up close, he was hard to mistake for Fell. His ears did not curve, his mane was far more lucious, and his scars were in different, distinct places. But he still made her heart beat a little faster - although whether it was fear or attraction, she wasn't sure.
"Most come here to find or fill homes," she elaborated a breath later. Looking away from him, not wanting to watch the conclusion dawn over his face. In truth, she wasn't certain that she believed his implied origin, but he had not made any move to herd her away from the Commons one way or another so she supposed it didn't really matter. She hadn't planned to put up a fight anyway unless her would-be suitor was heinous in some way.
"Most herds live on the outer isles, but there's the Lagoon and Peak here." Corvette took another few steps, glancing only briefly in his direction before finally slowing her pace and cocking her head to face him. "What is it you're looking for?"
