A note (for my sake): This thread is timed for approximately 50-75% of the way through Fall.

The blue-spattered shape of the young mare tore through the woods and fields that separated the Peak from the Falls. Tears streamed down her face as the girl ran, her hooves clattering over the stony path as hard soil gave way to shale and hard rock. The path she took was aimless now that the sound of the waterfall could be heard in the distance. Saphris lost herself in the trees as she cried softly. Taking no pains to not be followed, she despaired without taking stock off the world around her.

Saphris wound carelessly back through the woods back toward the sounds of the falls. She ruminated in the fight that had happened earlier with her mom. Tears spilled in a new wave, warming the maiden's cheeks. You see, Saphris had never lied about something so big before to her mother. She was keeping a secret from the older tovero, and Emerson could sense something was off with her. The girl's nerves had been on a hair trigger around the subject of her time alone in the Lagoon, and today.. she'd just been pushed too far.

Tucking herself beneath a willow, the sabino-laced maiden walked the length of the secret place beneath its boughs. Her hooves navigated carefully across the soil as she approached the edge of the willow's reach. The wide crown of the willow had allowed for its branches to stretch a short ways across the river that flowed from the Falls while also covering a fair patch of earth on the shore. It formed a beautiful little courtyard with a private "pool" that was discovered from time to time.

She sniffed, blue eyes tracing the long line of the hanging vines. Yes, Saphris enjoyed this place immensely; she'd have to remember it for other, happier occasions. Her lips pouted forward as the maiden approached the water's edge. The ends of the willow's green tendrils trailed into the gently moving water. Lost in her thoughts and the cloud of her emotions as she looked down at the riverbank, Saphris didn't notice the male who'd spied her.
