Blizzard watched the mare watching him. She was beautiful with her tovero patterning, something he couldn’t say he’d noticed about others before, he knew part of his feelings was nothing more than biological programming, he was a stallion in the middle of the breeding season. However, he could admit, at least to himself that he’d normally managed to ignore what his hormones wanted, he had often considered himself too rational in his thinking to be swept up in the buzz of the season. Perhaps now that his sister had her own little sproglet, maybe his own body was seeking the same.
He blue orbs swept over her form, noticing the lines of tension in her body, her ears that weren’t quite pinned back but not far off it, the way she held herself as still as a board. She was anxious, of him. It wouldn’t be hard to guess why but she was perfectly safe in the meadow, something she must have known or she’d of bolted.
He kept his posture relaxed as he dropped his head back down, not straight away plucking some grass relax my dear, I won’t bite lifting his head with a impish smile he continued well, not unless you ask nicely one side of his mouth curled up as he winked at her, chuckling lightly before dropping his head back to pluck at the sweet grass, hoping she saw his comment in the light hearted way he had meant it.
He kept to his spot, not advancing on her, waiting…. waiting for her to make the first move. He figured the action might give her even a small sense of empowerment. Enough control to override her anxiety of him, if she was running the show she could decide what, where, why etc. And if needed, he could gentle guide her in hopes she’d play his game.
