"Santi cared very much for players who took the game and their place within his operation seriously. Tremendous eye for young talent (Gioko, Sorozabal, Arteche, and many from years before). Like most of us, even if a player wasn’t the most skilled as long as he was respectful and could occasionally get a laugh out of Santi he was fine"

Lets be clear that Santi was not a favorite with a majority of the players he employed over the many years of his players manager role. He liked players that threw hard and he obviously catered to the stars. During the second half of his career. especially, you did not ever want to scratch for any reason. The comment you make about making him laugh...made me laugh...because he wasnt the manager you walked up to and told a joke. I dont know where you came up with that.
