Re(1): Why is the Split Placement so rare in Long Court Jai-Alai?

So the “clip” in traditional Jai-Alai is considered “bad form” or accidental. The reverse (or what we call a backhand) is supposed to stay so close to the side will that you can see it skipping. Pulling that off the side wall is a skillful catch.

The backhand two wall works at MC for a couple of reasons but the traditional pelota comes off both the side wall and frontis differently, it’s hard to get it to open and there is more room and time for the backcourter to catch it and if he has shots he can kill it.
