This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. There must be a few hundred out there who never realized,
This web site existed,NS men ? The youngest would be about 85/6 now those were the deferred tradesmen.
They were allowed to defer their call up to complete apprenticeships.Also there were Ns men who were offered an extra years service for regular pay,the 3 year men,we had a few of them in 62/3
As Maurice pointed out,there may be some 2nd WW. vets they are coming upto or over the 100 mark,I once suggested to Joe Eastwood to put some messages in local papers ,Liverpool,Manchester,Bolton he then was not too keen on my idea, and so if such actions were tried again maybe there would be some response, And a few good tales of "daring do" too, to throw into the mix
It would obviously cost a few pounds to do this
I would donate £25 to get a kitty going
what do the site team think of my hairbrained idea
