For Geoff,

Looking at the timeline for any change is daunting for the following reasons: I joined 1 LF in 1963. I'm 79 years old and I'm considered a youngster. You have already mentioned dwindling LF verteans, and it will only decrease. Change is inevitable, but I reflect on reality. Today we see changes to Regimental structure, names, and association all leading to loss of County affiliation, which we currently enjoy. RHQ RRF appears to be moving all to a Tower of London-centric approach, thereby negating and accelerating our destiny. To be honest, we are running down a successful site to 'The Last Man' standing. I am sorry to say. Maybe there is a lifeline by merging our functions with RHQ RRF and seeking Fusiliers that have a Lancashire connection. A slim chance to be honest, and that contradicts the privacy of the site envisaged by Joe and company. As for Vince's laudable suggestion, I might suggest it is the wrong time to impose a state of flux and admin burden on Geoff. Finally, we must be realistic and focus managing decline. My honest opinion. Les
