Her first response was not what he expected. He figured she would act more like Rhoxane or Hymn had, he had been prepared for that. Instead she seems more like Pyre. Maybe not exactly like his fiery painted mare, but her reaction was along the same lines. Pyre had not been happy about being on Tinuvel, but she had been interested in him. This mare seems to be intrigued while also being understanding. It was a breath of fresh air, but he couldn't let his guard down just yet.
As he let's her know his plan he spots something odd on her face. Her pretty head tilts to the side as she questions why she was to stay only one night. He smiles, realizes that maybe she wasn't as close to her leader as he thought. He had just randomly picked the first mare he saw to bring back to the Inlet. Teach Lir a lesson in challenging was all, but the ultimate goal was to retrieve Citrus. As long as Cirtus wanted it he would return her to Nox. That was the plan anyway.
She elaborates her question to better understand. He smiles before answering. "In the past I have challenged and won mares to grow my herd. I kept them for a season to allow us time to meet properly. Actually two mares apart of my herd right now are because I stole them, but that is only how we met. The rest of the story was built from true care and love for them." It was amazing how it had all worked out. "I have since stopped taking mares from other herds as it is not how I wish to conduct my rule." He had lost Rhoxane for a long time, but now she was back where she belonged. It was a great feeling how their relationships have developed.
"The mare that was stolen does not deserve to be a captive. She has lived here in the Inlet for a few months and I don't wish to see her wait long for rescue. This is why I suggest we leave tomorrow." He did not mind being honest with her even though they only just met. He did, however, have to remind himself to stay a gentlemen. Standing up close speaking with this mare he realizes just how beautiful she was. With the season he would have to keep the flirting in check if she was to arrive home in a timely fashion.
"But this can also be about you. If you have any doubts that your leader is not the one than by all means stay here a little longer. I also do not wish to send anyone back who is unwilling." Just as he had explained to Hymn he would not send a mare back to someone she didn't like. At the time he had also been feeling out if Annubis was a bad or good guy.
