I started going to Miami Jai Alai in 1972. As a college student I worked at Big Bend Jai Alai and ended up living close enough to Ocala JaI Alai to become a fan there. I was fortunate enough to have attended performances at every fronton in Florida. That being said, I have seen players who could catch and throw the pelota better but one player stood out to me for one kind act that he did.
My daughter started accompanying me to Ocala Jai
Alai when she was 17 or 18. In 2001, or so, we went to a Wednesday evening performance at Ocala. There was some event that went on. I can not recall whether it was a "hit the wall" or meet the players but my daughter spoke with Dave. After we went back to our seats and before game 1 started, Dave walked down to where we were seated and gave my daughter a jersey. It may not seem like a big deal but it was to my daughter. Small gestures make great impressions. Replies:
