Minus the numerous unforced errors (mostly Erik) that was a really fun game to watch! Thanks for sharing Jesus! If you have any more of Aritz's singles games, please lay them on us! I wish I could read that site.
As far as this one game goes, both of the them have great court positioning/anticipation. They both seem to have the measure of that court and knowing exactly where the back wall is.
Both of them are great at making saves. Erik seemed better at turning a defensive save into an offensive play.
Aritz's passing seemed better to me.
Aritz seemed to be a little quicker to get a shot off, which were mostly excellent in quality. Erik also has excellent shots but he did not gain the initiative to fire them as often or as soon. I agree with you Jesus, that Aritz's ability to fire a shot from anywhere seemed superior here. That alone makes him severely dangerous.
They both are very tricky players and very good with their ball placement and pace of throw. Aritz seemed better at intercepting shots and then countering. Or at least he did that more often than Erik in this game. Not sure how much one game really proves though.
How close or far away from their prime are these guys now?
On a side note: have you noticed that many men from the Basque country often do a tiny shoulder shrug of both shoulders when they are talking? Is that a Basque thing or do most Spanish people do that? Or is it a French thing?
