Rules
• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.
• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.
• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.
• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.
• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.
High dive into frozen waves - triggers Posted on October 1, 2025 at 01:41:30 PM by Clarity
OOC: WARNING! Violence and death are included in this thread.
Winter was reaching its end and so far things have been quiet. The Peak was lucky that the battles have died down since Summer considering her old bones needed a rest. There were other mares here who could hold their own, but it fell on her shoulders to keep them safe. Khar'pern may lead them, but she was in charge of the fighting advances. Their leader was able and strong, but both of them were getting old. Besides, they haven't exactly on the best terms since last year.
The painted mare begins to descend the mountain as wild thoughts run through her head. She has survived the last few attacks against the Peak. Not all of them have been so lucky and she had to decide if their leader was to blame. Khar'pern definitely had a big part in it, but was it all because of her? How could she keep their sisters safe and protect their way of life? The burden of being the General bore heavy on her shoulders as did the thought that maybe it was time she took things a step further.
She also debates on a way to prove to the Lagoon that they should be left alone. But with her aged body did she still have the strength to do so? Could she pull off the greatest move ever made in Peak history as she knew it? Could she channel Bozena...
Something wasn't right.
Her ears stand straight up as her eyes scan her surroundings. His scent was fresh in the air and so was Emerson's. Her chest grew tight and her legs carry her swiftly down the winding path until both of them were in full veiw. Clarity screams out, her cry echoing off the mountainside, before she shoves her way in front of Emerson. "Go find help. I will hold him off." She growls back at her sister knowing her brother could not stop hunting her.
The only hope was to use all her strength to keep him back. Beloved lunges towards her and she lunges towards him. The two of them take turn tossing blows from teeth to hooves, and even their own heads. They push each other trying to shove the other over the cliffside. The icy mountain proves difficult to keep sure footing and so Clarity slips.
The loudly painted mare is nearly pushed off the rocky path. She could feel her back hoof slip off and rocks fall down the jagged edges below. Somehow she finds the strength, and the footing, to push her brother back. His glistening red eyes show terror in the face of his sister. His ebony body, save for the touch of white at his hooves and the middle of his shoulders, was a contrast to his sister's more white form.
It was cruel the way fate had turned the siblings. The brother who once smiled happily when he saw her had long ago turned down the path of darkness. Cullen couldn't be allowed to ever do this to another again. It was Clarity's job to silence the darkness that had its hold over her younger sibling. Even if it meant his death.
With a scream she manages to escape him. Blood clouds her vision was a previous blow to the forehead as she swiftly turns to see her brother falling forward. He had been trying to push her off the mountain so as she escaped his footing had slipped. His momentum had made it hard to him to stop himself and she was not going to let the opportunity go to waste. Clarity rams her body into him from behind.
The mare stands there heaving as she watches her brother dissapear into the shadows of the mountain. She hears the thud, but she does not see the body. Somehow she remains standing despite the screaming of her legs. Replies: There have been no replies.
