Very interesting. The lack of criteria, as to who goes into the Jai Alai Hall of Fame shouldnt preclude its formation. Are there stated, designated statistics for football, basketball, baseball players that gets one admittance?
What we have are jai alai programs, videos, tournament results and personal observations. The eyeball test is subjective but is a great start to the individual discussion. That isnt any different in any other sports Hall of Fame determination. We really think Elorduy was the games consistently hardest thrower because our eyes told us that. Why was Harold Baines inclusion into the Baeball Hall of Fame controversial?...because our eyes, over a long period of time, clearly told us he was not a Hall of Famer.
Its not going to be a perfect process. Determination of great players from the past generation or two is just as tough as deciding if a great baseball player from the 1930s warrants inclusion.
I agree that the Jai Alai Hall of Fame should be very exclusive.
