CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster. Today at the Fusiliers Museum Cafe, we held a luncheon attended by some of the website team and guests to honour our friend and former Website Standard Bearer, Robert (Bob) Barton, who has served with loyal and dedicated service to the website for 10 years. Bob, in his post of Standard Bearer, has travelled the length and breadth of the UK to attend the final muster of our Fusilier Brothers and pay the website's respects and condolences to the family, and also participated in the many Regimental events, in all weathers and at very short notice, always immaculate in his turn out, He will be greatly missed as our Standard Bearer but will still be on the XX Lancashire Fusiliers Website Team,
Omnia Audax.
Robert was presented with a certificate of appreciation, an engraved Tankard, and a Gift certificate from the Fusiliers Association for his loyal and dedicated service. I would also like to extend our thanks to Robert's dear and loving wife, Christine, for the support and encouragement given to him in his role of Standard Bearer. Thank you!
