I was tempted to detour, but I was in the middle of a 550 mile drive to visit my brother and his family in Dalton Georgia and two days later take the reverse 550 mile drive home...8 1/2 hours each way.
I actually attended that fronton
several times and one time I was invited by one of the players...one of the Sierra brothers,I believe, to have dinner with them (Dutch treat) at the restaurant that was just off the Interstate. I accepted the invite and had a great time even though I couldn't understand much of what they were saying. A great fronton. It just surprises me that the signs are still along the Interstate so many years after the fronton closed.
