GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

Lir had been able to confront the intruder much than he had expected. Yet where short impatience had been, it had softened as he watched the youngster crumble. Fearor trepidation rendered him speechless, mouth opening and closing silently when unspoken words. Then the black began clacking his teeth together then withdraw into himself. Hadn't he seen his own children do similar things when an adult grew frustrated with their antics?

Hazel eyes looked the young male over again. Perhaps his draft ancestry had fooled Lir into thinking the boy was older than he looked. Stuttering profoundly, the black did his best to answer the questions Lir had posed to him moments before. He called himself Noctifer and said that he had been wandering. The sable dunskin centered himself with a deep breath as he took in the sight of the trembling youth.

Questions milled through the stallion's mind, like how old was he? How long had he been alone? Why was he alone? Then the Prairie lead thought: where would he end up? Lir allowed his stance before the black to relax. His eyes remained on him, wary of this perhaps being a trick to get his guard down. "Where are you from, Noctifer," he asked more gently this time.
