a burning eye in a lifeless sky [claim] Posted on November 19, 2025 at 09:37:18 PM by Akkadian
Citrine eyes glinted in dark carnelian tones in the moonlight as the stallion watched her. A scowl tugged harshly at his lips as he saw Annubis materialize from the sleeping jungle, interrupting his fun. The spotted bay roan had been stalking the female since she'd stolen over the border between Paradise and the Harbor. She hadn't been the opponent he craved to meet that night, but Akkadian couldn't miss the opportunity her presence presented. Since then, he'd been her slinking shadow.
The leopard trotted forward, his posture shifting from stealth to a more brazen confidence with ease. If he played this right, he could claim the red mare for himself without any issues. He steadied himself with a breath and pasted an easy smile across his lips. “There you are," he crooned, sidling his body into the space between her and the Paradise lead. Kade nipped at her shoulder-- a playful gesture perhaps to Annubis and a sharp insistence for her to pay attention to him.
“If you had waited, I could have shown you that it wasn't jaguar. No need to fear, pet," Kade said in assuring tones before giving her a meaningful expression with a sidelong look. He wasn't sure how she'd interpret it. He could be there to help her get away from the lead stallion here, and, even if he wasn't, the look said she had better listen to him anyway. Turning to his lead, the young mottled stallion dipped his head gratefully. “Thanks for stopping her, Annubis. It's her first night, and I guess she spooked. I hope we didn't bother you."
