Haven't had time to watch the whole thing - maybe later today - but what I did see was great.
Two things I liked immediately.
1 - Benny was speaking of a partido in Basque-land where the 3rd set tiebreak was to 10 points. Wow! Finally! So many times I've complained that a great hard-fought match should not be decided by a much too-random 5-pointer. Even wrote a simulation to reveal just how often the weaker team wins at 5 points as opposed to better formats. Even researched the history of tennis tiebreaks to see how their thinking evolved. FWIW, I have no objection to not using "must win by a margin of 2 points". Just don't go with the micro-mini 5 points, por favor.
2 - Benny spoke respectfully about Erik and thought he deserved an official 'retirement number'. Nice balance to some of the disrespect seen here. And means a lot coming from someone in a position to KNOW. Replies:
