Inexplicably, Mazikeen finds herself in the Falls again.
Her last rendezvous here had ended interestingly, to say the least. Mazikeen still wondered sometimes about Lucifer. He had provided just what she was looking for: amusement, distraction, simulating conversation. All things Warwick could give her, of course, but Mazikeen was nothing if not easily bored. Though her loyalty to him and to the Cove remained unwavering, she still found her eyes wandering more often than not towards distant shores.
Perhaps her hope of running into the black beast again was what brought her back this time. But as Mazikeen breaks through the tangle of vines and shrub that confine the falls, she is not met with the great black wall of a stallion that she had come to know. Instead her eyes settle on a new, unfamiliar figure: a golden stallion, stood stock still on the opposite shore. Mazikeen meets his gaze without hesitation, her lip curling into a sneer that screams, 'don't mess with me.'
But the message, apparently, is not clear enough, because in the blink of an eye he has skirted the pebbled shore of the pond and crowded himself into her space. He reeks of musk, the smell of him forcing its way into her nostrils. Mazikeen's lips curl in a bitter sneer, but she does not shy away from him. She'd sooner die than show any hint of meekness before a man, let alone one who thought himself big enough to impede on her without consequence.
The curl of her ears against the curve of her neck is the only warning she gives before she bares her teeth and aims a bite towards him, a viper striking out at her prey. She cares not if she gets a mouthful of his cheek, his nose, his ear, his neck. Her only desire is to attain the satisfaction of tasting his blood upon her lips. She cannot help but wonder if it will taste as foul as he smells.
"I suggest you take your eyes off me unless you'd like to lose them, cur," she snarls, an acrid taste to the words as she spits them into his face. Despite her displeasure she does not cede any space to him. She roots her hooves further into the ground, her lithe body coiling with tension as she prepares to push him aside.
