Here you are 30 years later still thinking radio's hot! After all the automation and competition on the internet, satrad, and corporate buyouts? I caught a bit of BZ, Weir may be live and local but he still stutters too much and will never get out of this market size. This market has utterly dumbed down. I think Audacy's a nuthingburger, if KMBZ is typical of their properties. Usually thats the because of the top people.
They're not alone, all 3 TV dinner hour news shows, Disney's ABC, NBC, and CBS Paramount have lost their ability to do journalism, now all three are copycatting David Muir's consultant---its just TABLOID TV as only entertainment corporations can homogenize them. Just as bush league as most affiliate stations. Can't tell one from another except who's anchoring. Downright pathetic. Maybe all the good journalists just bailed out, retired, or died. Whatever it is, it ain't news. Its just eye candy being narrated scene for scene from mostly amateur video. Shark and bear attacks, plane crashes, weather storms, fires, overturned trucks, and iphone video from passersby. Virtually none of it affects the nation in a time when this country's being hijacked by fascists. But the problem with political talking heads is that today viewers want to be dazzled and amateur video just can't really compete with Hollywood's special effects departments. Replies:
