She could barely hear the voice that drifts through the night air over the noise of the falls. Amaryllis turns her head and opens her eyes to see a stallion standing at the waters edge. His coat shimerred like metal in the moonlight. He looked a little older than her but by no means would she consider him to be old. Now she had two choices, she could either apathetically ignore his presence or reward him with her attention. For the last few years the disconsolate mare would have chosen to ignore him. However, he seemed to have a different temperament to the last stallion she was unfortunate enough to have the displeasure of being around. So tonight she decided to be bold. Whether that was Sabah’s influence on her or simply her hormones playing with her mind she didn’t know. But she hoped she wouldn’t regret her choice. Besides she was more than capable of fighting for herself should things drastically go south. Not that she expected that to be the outcome but you could never be too careful. She waited for the last blemishes of mud to wash away from her body before she left the cascading falls. Shaking the majority of the water from her coat her long wavy mane danced in the air erratically. He was right, there was a nip to cool night air and she did her best not to tremble from the cold. She looks into his gentle green eyes and almost loses herself in them. “I’ve had quite the day,” she answers in a vacant tone as she continues to gaze at him. It had not been a good day and she didn’t particularly want to regale the tale. “Perhaps,” she adopts a more sultry tone, “you could warm me up?” Amaryllis had never courted before, she’s not even sure she has flirted before, but it was a demeanor that was easy to slip into. She had spent most her life avoiding the other gender; heck she had spent a lot of time avoiding everyone. Perhaps now was the time to explore this side of her. At least it was another opportunity to feel something. |
