I have to say that the matchup between the Fireballs and Devils was very exciting, though a few things:
1) The Fireballs ultimately were doomed because the Devils correctly chose the tiebreaker game to have Joseph out there against Benetrix. From the Devils perspective, it was the right move. A few seasons back, the Renegades lost because Goixerri figured he should be the one to play as a division 1 tiebreaker.
You had to feel badly for Joseph, but he did not make any of the plays. Ikeda (and Cabrera in an earlier game) played so hard to make up for his shortcomings.
2. Looking forward, the finals between the Cyclones and Devils should be fascinating. They are so evenly matched overall. It is not really apparent where the Cyclones will go for their tiebreaker advantage. Logic says Inaki/Manu, but they lost yesterday. Kubala-Roque is not a good team, but it is putting a lot of Bueno-Stan
3) Stu Nieman jokes about his ignorance in playoff scenarios. I'm OK with his humor and offhand comments--but if you are announcing to a reach over a thousand viewers, you have to do better than that. I know you don't have information fed to you like the NFL announcers, but think about how it sounds to the listeners. Replies: There have been no replies.
