To be more than a conqueror Posted on December 7, 2025 at 04:47:44 PM by Nicodemus
Watching his small daughter repeat her name really swells his heart. Nico nods his head when she glances at him for approval before glancing in Mizuki's direction. This is the happiest he has ever seen her. She was always supposed to become a mother and he was glad to share this moment with her.
As he speaks of Talei he was happy to see the filly light up with joy. It was always his hope that the siblings would become friends. All of them honestly, even the older ones. Some of his children were now old enough to have children though only Augustus had so far. Ganondorf had never had the chance and he wasn't sure about his eldest daughter.
He could only pray they were alive. Panda and their daughters. His attention draws back to Ameyuki as she bows and trots off towards the rest of the herd. He chuckles lightly thinking about how big she looks already. Children grew so fast and he had not gotten to meet her fresh on the earth. He can only imagine how much she has grown since then.
Mizuki’s touch helps ease some of the bad energy as he enjoys her embrace. No matter what choice she had made she was back with him now. She had not run away and nothing bad had happened to them. He stands in silence until the grey mates begins to speak. He watches their surroundings as he takes in her words of explanation. She begins to describe the scenery of their child's birth to which he closes his eyes to imagine it better.
It seems like a beautiful memory for them. A scared one between mother and daughter. One he has wished to share, but he could not be selfish. Mizuki deserves this kind of happiness after what happened last year. Not to mention her harrowing journey to the Inlet. The mare soon catches him off guard. She asks about the de in the introductions of his namesake. Blue eyes open slowly before answering.
"Oh, um...of I believe." It he was honest he didn't exactly know. It was just a tradition passed from his family that he has kept close. "It is some unknown tradition passed from my mother Ysabel and from her mother Sabela. My family was not originally from these islands. Like you, my grandmother arrived here and built a new life. She brought the "de" tradition from her father who came from the place where you always introduced yourself followed by your namesake aka your sire's name."
"It was a way to tell your bloodline and show respect to your parentage. If I recall right from my mother's teachings it is of Spanish heritage." Though his name held no Spanish roots his mother's and grandmother's had. "My mother lives here in the Inlet if you ever wanted to meet her. She tends to keep to herself, but she is friendly." He smiles lightly. His mother had always been so kind and strong. A mare he always looked up to and valued.
Ysabel was really old so it was no telling when her time may come. He dreaded the thought, but it couldn't be helped. Every time he looks at her he knows the time was looming closer. Replies: There have been no replies.
