I'm trying to figure out if that was a lot of money bet for that time. Comes out to about $3488 per performance. $3 or $4 per person. This sounds weird but I think that is a lot for the time. It was the middle of the Great Depression and money was tight. Comes out to about $100 per person in todays money. Although it doesnt look like it, they might have been sending it in more in 1935 than we do today.
