By my standards, if you are going to classify someone's action or reasoning as 'stupid', you should provide some kind of supporting logic.

Eg: your best estimate of the prob for that match outcome.

The very first topic in Chalk Talk Hall of Fame is "The Limits of handicapping" which I originated, based on traditional rosters and game formats. Clearly, we are in a new era. This is a case that touches on hcap limits.

The round 1 mismatch presents an implied challenge to quantify the outcome. At a return of $1.05 per $1, you would need to win 20 times for every one loss to break even.

IMO, the only way Johan and Gorka lose is with an injury and substitution. How likely was that? How often in a partido match? Seriously doubt that it's anywhere near once per 21 events that your selection scratches.

Anyway, lots of people bashing Kanpandegi, but no guesses as to how often his team might win. So be it.

Finally, I don't think that was a good bet, but not a stupid one either. I just used it as a test of whether I really believed Johan and Gorka were 99.9.
