Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

can't I just break it?

Karlach's gaze swept across the familiar peaks, naming them by rote. They had formed the cornerstones of her life, always pointing her the way back home no matter how far her feet had roamed. Which, had not been far. Karlach was largely comfortable here in the sheer cliffs of the mountains, among the sisters and her family. She had no great desire to travel anywhere else or to expose herself to the world at large, given what she had heard of herd life and stallions in general.

The Lagoon might hold the worst of the worst, but that didn't speak well for the quality of the rest.

You look... happy. Her sister's voice brings her back from her trance and she turns toward it with a wry smirk, stuffing down the flicker of dismay that rose. It didn't come from a dislike of her sister but from a stray hope that one of her new sisters might approach her now that she was a fully fledged member and not just a child underfoot. It was a silly thought, and she pushed it away as she turned to face her big sister. "Should I not be?"

Kar laughed and tossed her head. "It's a beautiful spring day. There is no conflict at the border and here you are." She smiled again and moved a step closer. "I have no reason to not be happy."

As Ryvar spoke of a meadow with newborn fawns, Kar's ears perked forward and she shook her head. "I haven't been but let's go. I've mostly just been up here watching the hawks." The sabino smiled as she directed her path toward the fir that Ry had mentioned. "Everyone looks so tiny from up here. Like little ants."

Her tail flicked at her haunches as she peered sideways at Ry, her brow creased with thoughtfulness. A few strides passed before she spoke again, her voice softer. "What have you been up to?"

Though Kar was essentially Ryvar's equal in the eyes of the sisterhood, she would forever be her big sister. As the baby of the family, Kar had always been protected, looked after. Ry was always the one who got to go with momma on excursions and began learning how to fight while Kar was still quietly at Khar'pern's hip. She had always looked up to her, and even now that they stood on even ground, she could not help but want to be even more in Ry's life.
