There is something that crosses both mares’ faces when his green gaze travels over them. Although it renders Tefnut into silence, it only momentarily quiets Rethe. Regaining her footing in their banter, she continues to taunt him, and Caine finds himself pleased that she hadn’t withered so easily. Instead, it seemed as if she was beginning to flourish, despite her persistent closeness to Tefnut.


“Please don’t disappoint me.” Caine quips back, his green eyes glittering with the word. Hardly about to repeat what Rethe wished him to. “I live with plenty of disappointment every day. It might truly break my heart if you’re another sheep in a flock of many. Never to be any different from the others.”


The stallion half turned from them, facing towards Salem. Despite the brass Rethe seemed to carry, he wondered if she even knew where she was going? He glanced back at them, a smirk cutting across his lips. “Also, I never behave.” Caine added, before he took off into a gallop across the stretch of luscious grass towards the sandy shore. They would either keep up, or he would see them on Salem once they decided to show up. Either way, the lagoon stallion wasn’t going to be left behind.
