With Rhonin now born and healthy he had some time to plan. If he was going to make anything more of himself, or at least try, he had to start making moves. Time was only passing faster and he was growing older. Soon it would be up to Augustus to take the torch, but he had no legacy to give him expect for the Inlet.
I guess that should be enough. It was plenty, actually, but never his whole dream. This is why he makes the effort to come to the Bay. Just how long has he lived beside Emhyr without a formal chat? Nico crosses the border into the Bay, but he doesn't stray far. He saw no reason that the stallion would chase him away though it was the polite thing to do.
