Tefnut & Aadrika
While the other cools.
“Sister.”
“Yes, sister?”
Voices barely registered on the spring chilled morning. Two mares, both red and dashed with white, looked out over the ocean. Their bodies were similar, but the differences were great. One held the scars of learning to fight while the other was freshly turned two. One held a blanket while the other just two white hooves and a facial marking, two sets of blue eyes looked at each other though, taking one another in before they once more looked out at the distance.
“Father will be proud.”
“Mother will miss me.”
Again voices were barely heard. They died off just as quickly as before, but this time they held more weight in every syllable. Letting out puffs of steam with their breath, both sisters watch the sun begin to rise. As their tails tick in tandem, the duo once more let the cold morning brush its ice-like fingers through their fur. It was cold, but the Tinuvel bred daughter could aid the Salem raised one.
Turning away first, Tefnut looked over her new home. It was a sucker punch to claim this land after receiving frostbitten ears in the Inlet. Letting that all wash away like water off of a ducks back though, the plain red dun sucked in a deep breath before blowing it out in a call. She was staking her claim on this land. Behind her, Aadrika sent off her own call to lay her own claim. Together, the dark and light raised sisters could do this. One was soft hearted, the other was rambunctious. One was tender, while the other could be coarse. With their differences though, the sisters marked a new start to the rest of their lives.
