As usual, Annubis lets his thoughts wander, and his hooves follow. When he managed to step beyond the boundaries of Paradise, he couldn't remember. Hell, he couldn’t even remember how long it had been since he was away from his small herd. When recognition finally kicks in, and the sterling beast once more returns to the boundaries he himself marked, he is left…confused.
The beast within growls at the fresh scent markers that are not his own, anger flashing behind golden eyes as the wolf threatens to rise to the challenge. However, the familiarity of the scent stops any further desires to rip and shred and fight.
Asmodeus. Wasn’t he gone? Didn’t he abandon the shores months before? What. the. Hell?
Curiosity takes lead over his own shame and frustration. Abandoning Paradise was out of the question. Hymn loved Atlantis as much if not more than he did, and he was not about to risk her fragile sanity, but he was trying to convince her to join him in relocating. She would not willingly leave behind their daughter’s remains… nor would he ask that of her… or himself if he were to be completely honest.
That meant his options were quite limited and having always been a creature without Rougaru’s desire for blood and battle, Annubis figured perhaps a simple conversation with the chimera stallion couldn’t hurt. With any luck, the stallion might be….reasonable.
So the sterling stallion draws from the shadowy depths of the dense jungle and settles comfortably in the bright sunshine that warms the beach. A bugle rumbles from his lungs as the sterling stallion calls for Asmodeus, his posture relaxed. Best not to start things off on the wrong hoof.
