Despite it not being his home or his claim; truly nothing about the trip had anything to do with him, Caine stood upon the shore of the Dunes and waited for the two mares to arrive as if he had won some sort of race. He was quite aware of the scent upon the wind; the acrid way it filled his nose and twisted his stomach, but he hardly let it dampen his mood. It seemed Tefnut was more worried than he was and he was the only one who might possibly be in danger.
“Tefnut worries too much.” he said to Rethe’s reply. “Besides, only one of us is an unwelcome guest.” He gave a dismissive swish of his salt matted tail, before shaking his head to help rid his mane of the still dripping water that clung to his neck. Clearly Caine wasn’t too worried about being wanted or not.
“Lead away, oh fierce one.” he said, his green eyes glancing to Tefnut again. “Surely the beach isn’t the only sight to see.”
