Creeping eyes and voiceless whispers.

More horses came. The grouping grew to numbers no one expected. Looking between everyone, the group of nine finally stood still. Eyes of various colors narrowed upon everything they looked at. Muscles flexed under thick coats and coughing could be heard from one. Voices carried over the sands, hitting ears from a creature none could see. The group at the oasis didn't notice the coyote like equine watching them. It didn't make any sense anyways for this lost horse to be here, but they were.

Listening to the screams as hooves began to move, the unknown horse kept one ear twisted at the group. Their eyes slightly danced when they saw the black demon surge towards the grey draft. His lips quirked when the roan charged at the dun. The creatures tail twitched when the cream based mother tried to cut off the roan. Voices trailed as everything went towards a battle down below. They wanted to understand the reason for it, but nothing was stated as a slithering voice filled their ears and made them turn away from the battle.

”Watch.”

As that single word managed to break free of everything else, the lost equine turned their head back towards the battle. Watching everything, the un-named creature noticed something. During the battle, the roan mare changed her trajectory. Watching the emerald eyed mare, this beast of no name wanted to move forward. The youngling was in danger, which punched something in this creature's gut. Deep breaths left their lips as the child's mother barely got in between the battle.

Watching more, the beast felt his stomach churn. No longer where the two drafts fighting. Instead, both were moving towards the child. It went from many different fights to just one. Everyone seemed to want to protect the child, but that left something wide open. Feeling their blue eyes widen, the creature wanted to cry out when the roan changed her path again. Shaking their head, the beast did nothing though as the sound of something horribly wrong filled the air.

Unable to swallow the dark taste on their tongue, the horse of nothing looked away as a red creature's body was bludgeoned into the oasis. Not watching everything, the lost horse only looked up when the screaming stopped and bubbles quit rising. Their two toned tail lashed before their eyes latched onto the red dun that was managing to slip away as the roan mare turned and raced in the other direction.

“NAHAWI!”

That name was bellowed by so many different horses that it turned into a boom. Wincing, the creature with blue eyes blinked faintly. Unsure and unknowing, they turned away as the sun vanished into the sea. Time wasn't on the broken man's side, but that was okay. Instead, this random creature listened as Lucifer, Baba Yaga, Snapdragon, Bidziil, Nataanii, Caveat, & Tefnut began to speak. Flicking their tail, the blue eyes horse let out a puff of air before slithering into the sea themself.

Only time would tell on what happened entirely, but this creature knew one thing. The ways of the Crossing would be changing.
