He had left without much of a fight. Sure, he had been outnumbered but she was still surprised. It wasn't like the older stallions mother warned her about who would stubbornly need to be chased out. Still, she follows him just to make sure. He could easily pretend to leave and find another path to an unsuspecting Peak member. He could also be there for her.

Maybe their encounter in the commons had caught his attention. Maybe she had been flirting too much with the stallions giving her attention. Mother had always warned her, but speaking to them in real life was so different than she expected.

Suddenly he pauses. The chestnut mare freezes as he speaks to her as if he had known she was there all along. She snorts as the young stallion turns to face her head on. Uncertain eyes stare at him as they narrow. The words reach her ears with a hint of danger. She knew she should be careful. She felt it in her gut as her stomach groans. Still, she was curious at the attention.

Ears slowly raise from their downed position, her eyes settle, and her heart thumps rapidly I her chest. "If I lose I will come with you." She agrees to the duel before her words properly register. "Bring it on." She smirks. Might as well give him a show if she was going to do this. She gets ready and lunges forward.

She had not foreseen this turn of events. They separate, Caine the victor. She soon realizes her mother had been right after gaining fighting skills. "I can't just tell you how to do it. You have to practice it too." Harmonie had thought it would be a natural talent gained from her dad's many wins. She was learning the harsh consequence of rejecting her mother's offer to practice all these years.

Nervous eyes watch Caine as he tells her to stay close. She does just that as he turns to lead her into the Lagoon. She had no idea what she was walking into so she sticks as close to the young stallion as she can. She was practically on top of him that she trips at one point. "You will keep me safe, right?" Her once confident voice quivers.

The Peak had brought a sense of safety she hadn't realized she could lose.
