They are paired off by their overall positions. Johan was the #1 frontcourter, and Gorka was the #1 backcourter, and so on. The interesting thing is that other than those two, the seedings are not necessarily an indicator of performance, as some players are better in the partidos than they are in quinella play.

Urrutia and Mandiola were the #7 seed when they won the initial tournament. Urrutia's quinella play was not great, but he was a dominant force in the partidos.
