Many of us retired guys are still paying into Local 2 and want to continue to participate in the union we helped make strong. With that said, I completely understand the active members frustration with the retirees voting only on name recognition. However, know that choosing who to vote for when you’re retired isn’t as easy as it was when you were active. We want to help keep our union strong and successful. So how about a little help here? Maybe try to put together a few coherent sentences on why we should vote for the candidate you, as an active member, feel is best for the job. I don’t mean telling us how bad the other guy is with the usual personal attacks like, “He’s a drunk or He’s a jag or He’s only out for himself”. Maybe help us make at least a semi-informed choice based on why we SHOULD vote for someone as opposed to why we SHOULDN’T vote for someone. Replies:
