Ball needs work-- way too many chic-chacs & chulas, especially in doubles when the back courter is responsible for defense. Hopefully over time back courters will adapt to the dead back wall. "Fast off the front/Dead off the back" is not a formula for fast paced play. But it is nice to hear a "clack" off the front wall instead of the thunk at MC (err I mean the "former location"--sorry Stu lol)
Egi was fun to watch and injected some energy into the game...looking forward to watching him.
Social engagement is sorely needed--lack of a chat capability on the YT stream with over 150 people watching? I understand Stu and Andrew are fully committed to the play by play; BUT there has to be somebody who can take a mike and/or a moderator "wrench"--El Barba took the mike during previous seasons of BC with Paulie and did well. When Lindsey did live stream coverage of BC on twitch she had over 250 people at times, mostly answering questions from new watchers, introducing the game to many people. IMO the ignoring social media opportunity is holding back growth potential.
I understand the 3 p.m. start for now to minimize overlapping with Dania; only having fans allowed in on Friday nights should be re-evaluated at some point because the completely empty seating is distracting.
Looking forward to the first crowd Friday to see how the new venue draws for a crowd.....
