Keep your friends close and your enemies closer

It was him, the one she had part dreaded and part relieved to see. Starscream she breathed out his name, amber eyes watching him, unsure of his motives. However for now he was keeping at a distance, something she was thankful for as she was far too tired to have to pick a fight. Still having a job to do she tried to ignore him, concentrating on her son.. their son, something she wasn’t sure of his thought on.

Helping the newborn to stand he quickly got to work on finding her udder and latching on. Taking a breath now the colt was occupied she looked back to his father. She didn’t know much about him, other than his name. She’d asked around in some of the local herds but he didn’t belong to them. So he was either herdless, lived on one of the other small island, or he was part of the Lagoon.

Why are you here? You disappear in the night and I don’t see you again, until this noteworthy time she says softly, she didn’t want to wake any of her herd mates, nor did she want to disturb the colt at this precious moment. Her head had lowered, her eyes half closed, her exhaustion was evident for anyone to see. She wasn’t sure if she could trust Starscream, not only with their child but with herself as well. She had protected her heart this time around, learning from last time.. a broken heart was misery, but to truly rest in his presence, to make herself vulnerable in that moment, that was a huge risk.

Shifting to rest one hind leg her eyes flicked back to the boy who seem to have had his fill and was now looking around with intrigue, she knew it wouldn’t be long before he was ready for a power nap but for now she would let him test out his new legs.
